Meet the friendly pygmy goats, ducks and chickens

Luxury retreat near the North Cornwall coast

Tredarrup Farm's three luxury converted barns offer a peaceful retreat for couples, friends and families who long to get away from it all, whilst still being close to the best of Cornwall. Hidden away in a sleepy valley, you'll be just a stone's throw from Port Isaac, Tintagel Castle and Padstow on the stunning North Cornwall coast. And three miles inland you'll find the wilds of Bodmin Moor, with its twin granite peaks just waiting to be conquered.

This area is absolute heaven for food lovers, with Michelin starred restaurants and cosy Cornish pubs where you can sample some of the amazing local food and drink. For lovers of the outdoors there's sand, sea, surf and some fantastic walking to be had. Whilst for culture lovers there are castles and historic houses and gardens to visit. And of course no trip to Cornwall would be complete without a trip to the world famous Eden Project!

Our three beautifully presented barns, sleeping between two and four (plus infants), were converted from historic 300 year old farm buildings and are arranged around a large courtyard. Throughout you'll find old oak beams, thick stone walls and cobbled and flagstoned floors. Furnished in a rustic farmhouse style, with more than a dash of luxury, you'll find a mixture of antiques and upcycled furniture along with plenty of 21st Century creature comforts. They're exceptionally well-equipped too, meaning you can spend less of your precious holiday time packing and unpacking the car.

In addition to each barn's private terrace or garden there's a large west facing garden where you can relax and soak up the wonderful rural views. Beyond, in the paddock, there's plenty of space to roam and for children to play. Come and say hello to our friendly pygmy goats, sheep, ducks and chickens or just take an evening stroll around the perimeter to stretch your legs before retiring to your cosy cottage for the night.

We look forward to welcoming you to Tredarrup.

Meet the owner

Graham and Lorraine Lay

We’ve always been drawn to the rugged north coast of Cornwall so in 2017 we were thrilled to be able to finally take the plunge and move here. We fell in love with Tredarrup as soon as we drove up the long farm track, through the granite pillars, to be greeted by the most amazing rural views. Since then we’ve enjoyed upgrading the barns, turning each into the type of luxurious home from home we’d like to stay in ourselves. When we’re not greeting our guests, we can be found pottering about on the smallholding or walking the nearby South West Coast Path with our rescue dog, Lucky James MacDougal III (Lucky to his friends). We love sharing this special corner of Cornwall with our guests and are always on hand to give advice - equally we’re very happy to leave you alone to enjoy the peace and quiet!
