  • Peaceful, family-friendly coastal location on a working alpaca farm
  • Bournemouth and the New Forest within 20 minutes' drive
  • Two minutes' walk from the River Stour and five from shops and pubs
Set on a working alpaca farm in the Dorset countryside, Snooks Farm Alpacas provides fun for all the family. Three miles from Ferndown and two minutes' walk from the River Stour, the free-range sheep and roaming goats will keep the kids entertained for hours – and there are free-range duck and chicken eggs for sale here too. There are plenty of nearby attractions for a week of adventure. You can spend the day exploring the seaside resort of Bournemouth or take in the spectacular views of the New Forest; both within 20 minutes' drive. Or, visit the Alice in Wonderland-inspired theme park Adventure Wonderland. A skiing and snowboarding activity centre is also only 10 minutes away, and Bournemouth airport is close by too (making this a handy pre-flight stay or base for the popular airshow). For food and drinks, the shops and pubs of West Parley are a five-minute walk away and barbecues are permitted on site. Dogs are not allowed on site.

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: Friendly hosts and relaxed atmosphere in the field with the park anywhere vibe. Alpacas roaming around, as well as other animals too. Tasty eggs for sale

Disliked: Very close to the airport. Planes are only occasional and good to look up at, bit they make quite a noise! Latrine facilities are super basic!

Non-electric grass motorhome pitch

Liked: We spent two nights here and had such a lovely time. The camp site is very basic (no shower or toilet) but this didn’t stop us having a great time. You are constantly surrounded by farm animals (alpacas, llamas, sheep, emu’s etc.) and the owners of the farm are happy for you to give them some strokes. There is a pub about 10 minutes down the road which serves food and also a Tesco express. Bournemouth is not too far from here (30 minute bike ride) but is mainly routed on busy roads. Finally, I have to pay special attention to the gorgeous 17th month old Mastiff puppy Casper who just wanted as many cuddles as he could possibly get! Such a lovely farm and such friendly animals.

Disliked: Very very minor but it would have been nice to have had a commercial bin to put our rubbish in. Did not stop us from thoroughly enjoying our stay!

Liked: Snooks Farm is a chance to camp somewhere a little different. The Alpacas are quiet, friendly creatures who jump the fence to come into the camping field, but this is one of the main attractions! It's close to Tesco express (and soon a Lidl) and a few good pubs are within walking distance and lots of attractions a short drive away.

Disliked: The planes taking off from Bournemouth airport can be noisy, but they are infrequent and short lived, otherwise it's a very peaceful campsite!
