  • Luxury glamping site at the foot of Boulsworth Hill in Lancashire
  • A 25-minute drive from Haworth and 40 minutes from the Yorkshire Dales
  • Ensuite pods with barbecue huts; pubs and food shop nearby
Fond of a little bit of luxury and plenty of peace? When you touch down at Trawden Forest Glamping, you’ll be surrounded by seven acres of woodlands, putting this glamping site a good-sized step away from the crowds. While it's properly peaceful here, you’ll still be just 10 minutes’ drive from the historic village of Wycoller and 40 minutes from the Yorkshire Dales National Park. With wildlife and challenging terrain on the doorstep, walking and cycling fans are well catered for (they can challenge themselves to reach the summits of the surrounding hills), as is anyone who simply fancies some time in the countryside to recharge. With barbecue huts on site, the evening can be just as laidback too. Things are pretty cosy inside the pods, as they come with a fully-equipped kitchen, double bed, ensuite bathroom and central heating. Top-notch Egyptian cotton bedding and towels are provided, as is private parking on site for peace of mind. Keep your stomach tended to as you please, as there are a couple of pubs and cafés in the local village, within five minutes’ drive of the site. When you want to get your hands on some food to snack on throughout the day, there’s also a village shop.

Liked: Everything from your allocated parking to the coloured wheelbarrows to take your stuff down, they supplied everything you needed you literally just take your food and drink 😊 the huts are clean comfortable the best bed and you could hear just the birds and trees it was do quite even though there's 2 other huts they are well spaced out we didn't see anyone, the hobbit hut was so cute for BBQs and the walk to the village was 15 mins at most it's just a getaway from it all relax kind of place amazing 😍

Camping pod

Liked: The fully equipped pod. The hobbit hut was lovely and cozy with the fire on in the evening, that was also fully equip with everything you needed. The area itself where the camp is based was very tranquil, we even saw a deer on the last morning wandering around the pods.

Camping pod

Liked: The pod has everything you’d need from pots and pans, tea coffee, bbq and fire for when the weather holds out. It’s very clean and well thought out and the bed is very comfortable! The shower was warm and powerful and the towels were lovely and fluffy. The location was lovely and peaceful with lots of nice walks around it and close to a few nice pubs and cafes to grab food. Especially The Emmett pub for more of an upper class pub tea.

Disliked: We both work very fast pace jobs and were hoping for a nice lie in however, the sky light doesn’t have a blind and therefore we had to hang and prop a blanket up against it in order to have some darkness in the pod but the blinds on the door window let a lot of light through as well and therefore, we awoke at around 7am with the sun. My suggestion would be a blind on the sky light and a curtain to pull across the door. Then people would have the option to wake with the sun light. But that is our only grumble from the weekend. Other than that we had a great time.

Camping pod

Liked: Wow, this was a truly luxury glamping experience - you could happily live there with all of the brilliant facilities. Hot shower, cozy linen, heating and reliable kitchen facilities. The bed was so comfy and that’s just the pod! The location was gorgeous! We saw deer, rabbits, pheasant, woodpeckers, squirrels and lots of other small birds from right outside our pod. And the beautiful historic neighbouring towns were also a lovely place to drive through on our way to our planned activities. The hosts also very kindly left lots of information of places to eat, walks to go on and other attractions - and left a special birthday message for my sister.

Disliked: As a smoker, it felt a bit silly that we had to stand out in the rain in the car park to smoke when the site allows BBQs and fires on the site. I would understand if it was control the risk of fire but even e-cigarettes weren’t allowed apart from the designated car park area. It didn’t ruin our stay but was just a little inconvenient.

Camping pod

Liked: Everything. Attention to detail, overall arrangement and facilities spot on. The owners thought about everything you might need. Really friendly owners. We loved the birds outside, the luxury inside. 20/10, will be back again.

Disliked: Not a dislike but a hint - changing the usb ports to include USB-C would be a great addition in the future.

Local attractions

Those of you with walking on your roster already will have a few places to bookmark… perhaps the footpaths around Wycoller Country Park (10 minutes’ drive or 50 minutes’ walk), the hilly ascent up the moorlands on Boulsworth Hill (five minutes' drive), the forest and fells in Ribble Valley (40 minutes) or around to see the limestone cliffs at Malham Cove (50 minutes)? When you’re ready to trade in the walking boots for some wheels, cycling and mountain biking is a-go in the Yorkshire Dales National Park (40 minutes), while Pendle Hill (half an hour) is another place to take the bike for a spin. Getting around’s a little different on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal (25 minutes), where you’ll likely be boarding a barge, and also in Haworth (25 minutes), where the steam train will be your new ride, as the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway stops here. Onto some shopping… there’s Boundary Mill (15 minutes) for that, along with market towns to stick your nose in to, including Hebden Bridge (40 minutes) and Skipton (half an hour). There’s a medieval castle in Skipton, and for other old sites that have stood the test of time, the National Trust’s Hardcastle Crags (40 minutes) has an old mill.
