Story
On the 6th June 2024 the UK commemorates the 80th anniversary of the WWII Normandy D-Day Landings. 130,000 troops, from 13 allied countries, came ashore on 5 beaches: Utah; Omaha; Gold; Juno; and Sword to repulse German forces. On 27 May 2024, Colin Brown and Gareth Hearn will commence a 340 mile sponsored cycle, leaving Ferring in West Sussex, crossing from Portsmouth to Cherbourg, and visiting all five beaches and Pegasus Bridge before returning to Ferring via Dieppe and Newhaven. They are entirely self-funding and will be aiming to raise as much sponsorship as they can for Help for Heroes. Help for Heroes is the leading Armed Forces and veterans’ charity in the UK, helping veterans and their families live well after service by providing physical and mental health care, and help with welfare and medical needs.
Please support this worthy cause by sponsoring Colin and Gareth as they cycle from beach to beach, and pay tribute to the brave troops who embarked on what was to become the most significant Allied victory of WWII.
