Cairo & Nile Cruise
Our base in Cairo is the 4-star Ramses Hilton, with 816 rooms it is perfect for riverfront relaxation near
to the centre of the city. Designed with all modern facilities, there are 4 restaurants, including a
poolside grill with river views, an English pub and a cafe. Other amenities include a gym, an outdoor
pool and a casino.
The MS Royal Viking offers outstanding service and high standards: the sun deck features a pool and bar with sunbeds and chairs. The buffet restaurant offers choice at every meal. The cheerful crew organises after-dinner entertainment in the lounge bar.
Flights are very busy for all dates – we strongly recommend booking early.

The rooms are decorated with clean, bright colours and have all modern amenities available. Each
room has a furnished balcony, satellite TV, iron/board, hairdryer air-con/heating and minibar
(payable) with. Upgrade to a king size room for £25 per night.
Our price includes a middle deck cabin and all 57 cabins of the Royal Viking look out onto the Nile and are furnished with twin beds, air-con, hairdryer, safe, satellite TV and mini-fridge (payable). Upgrade to a suite for an extra £25 per night.

Itinerary
Day 1
Fly to Cairo and transfer (approx 50 mins) to hotel. Your Host will suggest dinner together in one of the hotel restaurants (own expense).
Day 2
Sightseeing with our Egyptologist at the Pyramids and Sphinx, then the original Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, packed with 120,000 artefacts.
Day 3
Discover more ‘recent’ history at Saladin’s medieval Citadel and the bustle of Khan Al-Khalili bazaar (this is an optional tour at own expense). Fly to Luxor and board the ship.
Day 4
Morning visit to the Temple of Karnak, lunch on board, Temple of Luxor. Optional Sound & Light Show at Karnak this evening.
Day 5
Valley of the Kings, Temple of Hatshepsut and photo-opp at Colossi of Memnon – all before lunch! Cruise to Esna and Edfu.
Day 6
Visit the Temple of Horus; sail to Kom Ombo to visit the Ptolemic Temple. Moor at Aswan.
Day 7
Aswan’s High Dam, quarries and ‘unfinished obelisk’. Cruise to Philae Island Temple. Board a traditional felucca to sail around Kitchener Island.
Day 8
Free day: Relax on-board, discover Aswan with new friends, or take an optional trip: Abu Simbel’s temples or bird-watching with a visit to a Nubian home.
Day 9
Cruise back to Luxor, with time to enjoy the changing scenery, enjoying lunch, afternoon tea and dinner on board, and a final night in the bar.
Day 10
Fly back from Luxor to Heathrow.
Location
Our base in Cairo is the 4-star Plus Ramses Hilton Hotel, a short drive from the Pyramids themselves and 1 KM from the city centre. The Hilton hotel is located with views of the River Nile and adjacent to the Tamses Mall. Located only 5 minutes from the iconic Cairo Tower and the Egyptian Museum. Cairo International Airport is only 45 minutes away.
The MS Viking departs from the East Bank waterfront at the Luxor Cruise Port, nearby to the famous, Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple.
