Hauser & Wirth
Located in Downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District, internationally known Hauser & Wirth occupies a beautiful creative complex replete with two gallery spaces, a fantastic restaurant called Manuela, an organic vegetable garden with a good-looking chicken coop, a gallery shop, and one of the city’s best art bookstores. The perfect day could fly by in this remodeled flour factory. Hauser & Wirth represents over 90 artists and estates. They recently opened another LA outpost on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood.
David Zwirner
Inaugurated in New York in 1993, David Zwirner is a critical voice in the international art space, representing more than 70 artists and estates. David Zwirner opened a new, spectacular Los Angeles location on Western Avenue in Hollywood. Skylights fill three adjacent gallery spaces with light, a balcony view of the Hollywood sign, and a bookstore filled with must-read publications by David Zwirner Books on the finest contemporary art.
Jeffrey Deitch (Hollywood)
Jeffery Deitch has been an important name in the art world for nearly fifty years. Deitch has a deep understanding of both the New York and Los Angeles art worlds. His consistently playful curatorial vision of accomplished, eclectic artists fits nicely in both cities. Deitch operates two adjacent gallery spaces in Los Angeles between Hollywood and West Hollywood.
Jeffrey Deitch (West Hollywood)
While Deitch holds more traditional programming in his Hollywood outpost, the exhibitions in this West Hollywood studio space tend to be geared towards music and pop culture. The actual building is a historical landmark, previously a recording studio where Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra developed their biggest hits. The exhibitions at this Jeffrey Deitch outpost are less traditional, more eccentric.
Gagosian
With locations in New York, London, Paris, Geneva, Basel, Gstaad, Rome, Athens, Hong Kong and two in Los Angeles, Gagosian is everywhere. Gagosian’s roster of artists features some of the biggest names in contemporary art like Jenny Saville, Titus Kaphar, Donald Judd, and Nam June Paik.
