	Life Cycle Analysis (LCA): How they work and how we can use them in the plastics industry Webinar - 25 April 2024 12.00 - 12.45 BST Exclusive event for BPF members. In this webinar our speaker Dr Fanran Meng from Sheffield University will explore: • What are LCAs • Their relevance and how they can (or can’t) be used • What needs to be kept in mind when creating an LCA • Complicating factors, such as energy use in particular processes, for example • Dr Meng will then explore the key findings of a recent report he has done that uses LCA’s to show that in 15 out of 16 products he investigated plastics was the correct material to use.

	Know Your Carbon Footprint Webinar - 23 May 2024 09.30 - 12.30 BST Exclusive event for BPF and BPF CCA members. Join us for this Webinar as Dr Robin Kent (Tangram Technology) takes you through the basics of carbon footprinting and how to calculate a carbon footprint for your site. Dr Kent has calculated carbon footprints for over 200 plastics processing sites and will show how to get the data for calculations and how to estimate values when data are difficult to obtain. At the end of the seminar, most sites will be able to calculate their carbon footprint within 4-8 hours (including gathering the data).The seminar will focus on 'site carbon footprinting' but will also briefly cover 'product carbon footprinting' to show the difference in approaches.
