Oxford Brookes University is proud to host a competition on the theme of reducing food waste, as part of the United Nations initiative Principles of Responsible Management Education  (PRME) UK and Ireland Chapter 10th anniversary celebrations.  Each month over 2022-23, PRME regional networks are hosting a special event on the theme of food, related to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The competition is run as part of the PRME London and South East regional network group celebration events.  Students across the region are invited to submit competition video or photo entries, which PRME has kindly sponsored with £300 prize money!

Entries will be judged by a range of expert community partners. You can find information on all partners in the tabs on the 'hamburger' menu symbol, alongside details of a research discussion panel to which all are invited both online and in person on 22 February (please see registration details on the event page)This will be of interest to anyone who wants to learn more about sustainable food systems, carbon menu calculation, and surplus food redistibution to address food poverty.  The event will also include survey presentation by our research consultancy partner 'Shared Planet' on food waste and rescue solutions in hospitality businesses across Oxford.

The competition closes on 14 February 2023 at MIDNIGHT (extended) and winners will be announced on 22 February 2023 at the panel discussion event.

This competition has been organised and  run by our amazing students:
