SURVIVING TO THRIVING: WEST BERKS COVID-19 MENTAL HEALTH FUND

Start Application

The coronavirus pandemic has had a detrimental impact on the mental health and wellbeing of many people. Greenham Trust and West Berkshire Council are therefore working in partnership to create a new fund to support mental health and wellbeing across West Berkshire.

The £200,000 Surviving to Thriving fund is aimed at all not-for-profit organisations operating in West Berkshire and will provide varying sizes of grants (from small amounts of £500 up to a maximum of £30,000) that will help them to carry out their activities (possibly online), make one-off purchases or set up new initiatives that can help to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on mental health and wellbeing.

Guidance for users creating a grant application for this fund:

  1. Create new project: Charitable organisations must create a new fundraising project on The Good Exchange platform (please do not amend an existing project)
  2. Select ‘Mental health’ as the Charitable Category: When you get to the ‘Benefits’ section of the application and are asked what charitable category your project falls into please type ‘mental health’ into the search box and click on the phrase ‘Mental health’ to select it.  This item will then move to the ‘Selected Categories’ section on the right hand side of your screen and will ensure that your project matches with the ‘Surviving to Thriving’ scheme for West Berkshire Council and Greenham Trust to review. More details on how to select a Charitable category for a project are available here.
  3. Include keywords in the title: Please include the words ‘Mental Health / Surviving to Thriving’ in the project’s title
  4. Outline how your project is applicable to the fund: The 1st paragraph of the project’s description must include an outline project of the fundraising project and how it relates to COVID-19 and mental health

“The pandemic and resulting lockdowns and restrictions have changed our lives beyond recognition and brought or increased enormous pressures on our society. This is affecting people in a wide range of ways and not least their mental health and wellbeing. I am delighted that Greenham Trust is working with West Berkshire Council on this joint £200,000 fund to provide vital support to voluntary, charitable and community groups across the county. The funds will support vulnerable people of all ages with their mental health and wellbeing. The post-Covid world is unclear and recovery will be complex and non-linear. As we look cautiously but optimistically forward to the months ahead, I am confident this initiative will help the recovery process”. Chris Boulton, Chief Executive, Greenham Trust
