CAMRA Beer festivals are ready to welcome you back!

Your safety is our priority

The best in UK beer festivals are back. We’re been working hard to put in place vigorous safety schemes at all our festivals to make sure they are Covid secure.

Our priority is to ensure the safety of our visitors, suppliers, volunteers and staff. Our festival organisers have been pining for the day when pints can be supped amongst friends, family and fellow beer lovers, and are ready to supply the authentic festival that we all know and love! We’ve made some changes to keep you safe whilst ensuring you have a brilliant beer festival experience.

Beer Festival Covid FAQs

Will I have to wear a face mask / practise social distancing at the event?

It is not compulsory to wear a face mask, however we would advise people to wear one in busy places for example on entry.

Social distancing measures will be encouraged where possible via one way systems and floor markers.

Do I need proof of a negative Covid-19 test?

This is specific to the festival and it’s venues own guidelines so please do check on the festival website before attending.

I’ve had Covid-19 in the past 3 months, can I still attend?

If you have tested positive for Coronavirus or develop coronavirus symptoms in the past 10 days, please do not attend the festival.

Please do not attend a festival if you need to self-isolate because you are displaying any Covid-19 symptoms, even if these symptoms are mild.

If you or anyone you live with have one or more Covid-19 symptoms you should follow the government guidance on testing and self-isolation.

I’m not vaccinated can I attend?

This is specific to the festival and it’s venues own guidelines so please do check on the festival website before attending.

What have you put in place to keep attendees safe?

Each festival organiser will undertake a Festival Covid-19 Risk Assessment. This should be available to view on the local festival’s website. You can contact the organiser for a copy.

There will be ample hand washing facilities and hand sanitizer available.  To help keep everyone safe, we ask that you sanitize your hands upon entering (and leaving) the festival.

Social distancing may be implemented at some festivals (where possible) via one way systems, floor markers to help with ease of traffic.

Volunteers working at CAMRA festivals will be made aware of how to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 contamination including cleaning procedures and glass guidelines.

Will you have sanitation facilities?

Yes there will be plenty of hand sanitizer and hand washing facilities available throughout the festivals.

Do I need to have the Track and Trace app?

Government guidance encourages Track and Trace but it is not a legal obligation. We have encouraged the use of Trace and Trace, however it will be at the discretion of the festival.

Will the festival capacity still be the same?

Capacity at some festivals will be slightly reduced to take into account social distancing.

Is there a limit to people in a group?

There is currently no limit to group numbers.

Will the queues be longer?

Queues might be longer in some instances, however we do not envisage so. We ask that you please be patient and bear with the bar staff.

Do I keep the same glass?

This is specific to the festival and you will be informed on entry what the procedure at the event will be.

Can I sample the beer?

As in previous years beers can be sampled from your own glass.

Is there bar service or table service?

Under the new guidance service will be at the bar and is not limited to table service.

Do I need to book a table?

Table service is no longer a requirement but at the discretion of the organiser.

Are you taking cash?

Where possible festivals will be cash-less and using beer tokens to minimise contact but do check with the specific festival via their website

I’ve tested positive after the festival, what do I need to do?

Track and Trace should alert those who have been in close contact. The Festival organiser will then contact (if possible) those who attended that session. If customers bought their tickets in advance, the Festival Organiser can contact them using their details. If the festival is still ongoing, the areas the customer who tested positive frequented will be deep cleaned.

I’m vulnerable. Is it safe to attend?

All measures have been taken to make the festival as secure against Covid-19 as possible. The public areas will be cleaned regularly throughout the day (minimum of 4 times). Social distancing measures will be in place where possible. Hand sanitizing stations will be available. You can wear a face mask in busy area.

If I cannot attend the festival because I require to self-isolate, will I be able to get a refund

Yes, however please provide evidence of the requirement to self-isolate.

I’ve bought a ticket and government advice has changed – what should I do?

If we cannot run the festival you will get a full refund.

My festival has been cancelled and I have a ticket? What do I need to do?
